Spied - IAB reader catches the Mahindra Mojo in Pune
Mahindra 2 Wheelers may have lost the opportunity to steal the first mover's advantage in the 200 - 300 cc segment with the Mojo, but this segment is in a nascent stage in India and one analyst predicts a growth of 532 percent by 2022.
To recap, the 300 cc Mahindra Mojo went through a major design overhaul in its concept stage. The redesigned version was showcased at the Auto Expo in January and has been testing ever since.
An Indian Autos Blog reader spotted this camouflaged test mule doing rounds in Pune, complete with production panels. The LED daytime running lights above the twin headlamps, new fuel tank and revised air intake are the most noticeable design changes. As seen in the spyshots, the riding posture is relaxed and upright making the Mojo a tourer like the Suzuki Inazuma.
The 292 cc single-cylinder liquid cooled fuel injected engine powering the Mojo pumps out 26 hp and 25 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The Mojo will be heading right into an ambush from the likes of KTM Duke 200, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Honda CBR250R and Suzuki Inazuma. Expect the launch to be anytime from now.
