Mahindra's all-new MPV rendered by IAB reader

Mahindra's first full-fledged MPV.

IAB reader, Dhananjayan G Kausshik, has created a rendering of the upcoming Mahindra MPV, based on spyshots of the test mule. It's expected to arrive in 2017 in India, and will also launch in global markets.

The MPV is expected to be based on a monocoque platform.

Similar to IAB's rendering of the MPV, the exterior of the MPV is influenced by a styling that looks slightly familiar yet contemporary. It has the characteristic Mahindra toothed grille, large headlamps, sportier bumper design, generous amount of greenhouse and a bold shoulder line across the side profile.

The Mahindra MPV is reportedly the first project developed by Mahindra’s North American Technical Centre (MNATC) in Troy, Michigan. It's unclear if the underlying platform will adopt a monocoque architecture designed around a front-wheel drive drivetrain or a ladder-frame architecture.

The MPV could pack Mahindra’s mHawk diesel engine or an all new unit co-developed with Ssangyong.

Mahindra could equip the Innova-rival with either its mHawk diesel engine or an all new unit co-developed with Ssangyong. Mahindra could also introduce a petrol variant, which could feature an all new 1.5L four cylinder engine set to be introduced soon.
