The Quanto facelift is expected to come with a 5-speed AMT as well.

Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Vadiraj Acharya K, snapped these images of the Mahindra Quanto facelift in Bengaluru recently. Mr. Vadiraj reports that the test mules were accompanied by a couple of units of the Ford EcoSport as well, suggesting that Mahindra is rolling its sleeves to ensure the Quanto facelift doesn't meet the same fate as the current model.

The 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine is unlikely to see drastic changes.

The Xylo-derived sub-4 meter utility vehicle is given a new front fascia with redesigned headlights with LED daytime running lights, a new grille and bumper, and the addition of a hood scoop, much like Mahindra's larger Scorpio SUV. According to reports, the brand wants to style the Quanto along SUV lines, to give it better presence. Mahindra is also reported to call the Quanto facelift as the 'Canto', to give it fresh brand identity.

Apart from the exterior, the Quanto facelift is also expected to get better quality plastics for the interior, and a new steering wheel could be introduced as well.

The Quanto facelift would continue with the 1.5-liter three-cylinder diesel engine which is capable of producing 100 bhp and 240 Nm of torque, and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. However, on the Quanto facelift, Mahindra is likely to offer a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) in addition for added convenience.
