The Quanto facelift is expected to be badged 'Canto'.

According to reports, the Quanto facelift will take SUV styling cues in an attempt to appeal to the compact SUV buyer. Sources say that the Quanto, which currently looks like a chopped Xylo, hasn't fared well with customers in the design department with its neither-here-nor-there looks.

The rear of the Quanto facelift looks similar to the current model, though the taillights could be upgraded to LED units. Mahindra will also tweak the interiors of the Xylo-based vehicle which faces criticism for its average build quality and lack of finesse.

According to reports, the Quanto could borrow the TUV300's 1.5-liter three-cylinder mHawk80 diesel engine, which is available with a 5-speed manual or automated manual transmission. Mahindra expressed plans to introduce an AMT on the Quanto at the Auto Expo 2014 with the Quanto autoSHIFT concept. Apart from the AMT system, the Quanto autoSHIFT also boasted of regenerative braking which the company claimed would save 40 liters of fuel per annum.
