Mahindra Quanto facelift snapped up close in Navi Mumbai - Spied

Gets a new front-end design.

The 2016 Mahindra Quanto (facelift) has been snapped testing in Navi Mumbai, by IAB reader Kumar Saurav Mahato. The updated version gets a cosmetic makeover, and mechanical changes are also expected in tow.

The Mahindra Quanto facelift will reportedly be launched by the end of this fiscal.

The Quanto facelift will feature a renovated front-end design that incorporates a new grille with vertical slats, new headlamps, LED DRLs, circular foglamps, a new bumper, an air-intake on the hood, and possibly a new alloy wheel design. While the front fascia is reworked for a better appeal, its rear seems to be carrying over the same, boxy design.

The Quanto facelift will feature a redesigned front facia but the vehicle will be similar to the current model towards the rear.

The Xylo-based sub-4 metre UV also gets a revamped interior. The notable changes include, a beige and grey color scheme, a new multifunction steering wheel, a redesigned instrument cluster and new AC vents.

The new Quanto, which could be called the 'Canto', could feature the new mHAWK 80 diesel engine, and a 5-speed AMT as an option.

The powertrain of the 2016 Quanto is expected to be carried over from the Mahindra TUV300. The new model would host the three-cylinder 1.5-litre mHAWK 80 turbocharged diesel engine, that produces 84 hp and 230 Nm on the TUV300. Like in the latter, the engine will be offered with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT in the Quanto.

Reports are also suggestive that the Mahindra Quanto facelift would be rebranded as Mahindra Canto.
