Spied - IAB reader captures the interesting LED pattern of the Mahindra Scorpio facelift
The Mahindra Scorpio maybe over a decade old but it is holding its own amidst an influx of competitors.
The Scorpio reclaimed the crown of India's best selling SUV from the Renault Duster for the last financial year, yet to sustain market leadership with the Ford EcoSport, Nissan Terrano and the upcoming Hyundai and Maruti mini SUVs around will not be easy. The ageing Scorpio needs a major update that it has not received in five years, to be able to avert a siege.
Nashik based reader Aditya Kamble mailed us a few snaps of the Mahindra Scorpio facelift with its LED taillights illuminated. The mirrored 'D' shaped taillight graphics are new to a Mahindra vehicle. Projector headlamps (at least on the top-end variant) with a black lens tint have also been sighted in previous instances.
The test mule has a freshened tailgate and front fascia, and the dashboard is all-new with the steering wheel lifted off the XUV500's inventory.
We expect the facelift to soldier on with the current engine options - 120 PS 2.2-liter mHawk engine and the 75 PS 2.5-liter m2DiCR engine - matched to a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic (manufactured on request).
Expect the Scorpio facelift to launch towards the festive season.
