Mahindra Thar Facelift starts testing ahead of 2015 launch - Spied
Expected to get minor cosmetic revisions.
These spyshots indicate that Mahindra has started working on a refresh for its rugged SUV, the Thar. If the camouflage is anything to go by, there could be minor cosmetic changes to the side panels, hood and dashboard of the car.
The Thar is presently available with two engine options: A 2,523 cc four-cylinder DI engine that produces 63 bhp and 182.5 Nm of torque, while a more modern 2,498 cc CRDe diesel unit which develops 105 bhp and 247 Nm of torque.
The report also claims that the Thar could be offered with a new, downsized diesel engine, the same engine that will power the U301 compact SUV.
In September 2013, Mahindra launched an updated Thar with improvements to the canopy, the front axles' locking hubs, and better quality interior door handles and AC switches. These changes were largely customer centric, and another round of updates could be seen on the refreshed Thar.
