Mahindra TUV300 spotted up close, best look at exterior design - Spied
Launch on September 10.
The Mahindra TUV300 has now been spotted up close, courtesy of Carwale, giving us the best look yet at the exterior design of the all new sub-4m SUV. It is confirmed to launch in the market in September, with reports narrowing it down to September 10.
Up front, the TUV300 gets a Jeep-inspired grille with chrome inserts, large swept back headlamps, and and angular pair of fog lamps underneath. At the side, it's clear that Mahindra wanted maximize interior space within the sub-4m length, as seen in the small overhangs and long wheelbase.
With a bold shoulder line running across, the boxy design does have some definition in the side. At the back, it gets body-painted plastic cover for the fifth wheel, large vertical taillamps, blacked-out D-pillar, and rear parking sensors.
Powering the Mahindra TUV300 is a new mHawk 80 diesel engine, which is reportedly a revised version of the 1.5-liter 3 cylinder diesel motor under the hood of the Mahindra Quanto. Although power figures haven't been revealed yet, it is expected to have a higher fuel mileage over the Quanto.
As for transmission, it will get a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while an AMT option could also be offered, as it was spotted in a spyshot. An AWD system will not be equipped at launch.

The Mahindra TUV300 is expected to cost between INR 6.5 – 9 lakhs (ex-showroom). A year after establishing itself in its home market, Mahindra could export the TUV300 to countries like Sri Lanka, Nepal South Africa, Philippines, Tunisia and Chile.
