Spied - IAB Reader snaps the disguised Mahindra U301 (new Bolero)

To be launched in 2015.

The new Mahindra Scorpio is a massive improvement over the previous versions of Scorpio, and UV specialist is likely to do the same to the aging Mahindra Bolero as well. Spotted by IAB reader Prabhakaran S, the next generation MUV codenamed U301 continues to test on public roads. The vehicle that will most certainly replace the Bolero is expected to be out next year.

The U301 could be underpinned by a hydroformed chassis.

From the spyshots, it appears to have a similar overall stance as the Bolero. There's a good amount of ground clearance and it appears to have flared wheelarches. Also, the tail lamps have now moved a bit higher. The tailgate mounted spare wheel too is positioned a bit higher now.

The taillights are positioned higher than in the current car.

The U301 is likely to be based on the same hydroformed ladder-frame chassis as the new Scorpio. The stiffness and rigidity would be much higher than the current model.

The MUV would be positioned above the S101.

The U301 is expected to be powered by Mahindra's all new engines (1500 or 1600cc units). On the inside, there's going to be a huge improvement as suggested by the earlier spyshots which showed a more car-like centre console, a three-spoke steering wheel, and rectangular AC vents.
