It is no news that an AMT option for the Mahindra XUV300 is in the works. In the latest, YouTube channel Auto Trend has posted a spy video showing the interior of the Mahindra XUV300 AMT from the inside.

Reports say that Mahindra will offer an AMT in the XUV300 with both the engines, the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol unit as well as the 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel unit. The SUV in the video above is powered by the latter, which produces 85.5 kW (115 BHP) at 3,750 rpm and 300 Nm of torque at 1,500-2,500 rpm. The petrol engine develops 81 kW (110 BHP) at 5,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 2,000-3,500 rpm. Currently, a 6-speed manual transmission is standard. All configurations are strictly FWD, and that's going to remain unchanged for the foreseeable future. The AMT in the SUV seen in the spy video is a 6-speed unit.

The 6-speed automated manual transmission is said to be a stop-gap solution until a better but more expensive 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission is introduced along with the BS-VI upgrade in 2020.

The Mahindra XUV300 comes with some benchmark safety and convenience features and is one of the most feature-loaded SUVs in its segment. On the outside, the SUV comes with projector headlamps with LED DRLs, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED tail lights and dual-tone roof rails. While the cabin features include electric sunroof, leatherette upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The safety features of the sub-4 meter SUV include 7 airbags, four disc brakes, front and rear parking sensors, ESP with Roll-over Mitigation and more.
