Mahindra XUV300 Electric to offer upto 350-400 km driving range - Report
Mahindra had confirmed last year that it plans to launch a pure electric variant of the XUV300 that went on sale last week. According to a new report from carandbike, the battery-powered variant will offer a driving range of up to 350-400 km.
In what is becoming a trend globally for mass-market EVs, Mahindra will offer the XUV300 Electric (codename: S210) with two powertrain options. The basic version will have a 380-volt battery pack that provides a 200 km. The long-range version with a bigger battery pack will go up to 350-400 km.
“It (Mahindra XUV300 Electric) will have 380 volts, 200 km range and there will be an option to increase the range up to 350-400 km and this is what will create the excitement at a price point,” Dr. Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra told carandbike at the Mahindra XUV300 launch.
A product pipeline image revealed last year suggests that the basic version of the Mahindra XUV300 Electric will employ a 90 kW (122.37 PS) motor. In February last year, Mahindra had inked a deal with LG Chem under which the latter will develop a unique cell keeping India application in mind and supply Li-Ion cells based on NMC (nickel-manganese-cobalt) chemistry with high energy density.
Mahindra hasn’t confirmed if it will sell the pure electric variant of the XUV300 in both basic version and long-range version right from launch.

Mahindra will launch the XUV300 Electric in the second half of 2020. Rival automaker Hyundai is considering a pure electric variant of its sub-4 metre SUV, the Styx, which will go on sale around the end of next month.
