Mahindra XUV300 bookings cross 26,000 units in India
Mahindra has announced that the XUV300 bookings have crossed 26,000 units in India. The new sub-compact SUV was launched in February, and last month, it was the second most selling model in its segment.
The Mahindra XUV300 is sold in three variants – W4, W6, and W8, along with an optional pack (O) for the top-spec trim. Mahindra says that among the three, the top-end variant is being ordered the most and that it accounts for around 70% of the bookings.
Commenting on the bookings milestone, Veejay Ram Nakra, Chief of Sales & Marketing, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said: “We are thrilled with the XUV300 receiving over 26,000 bookings in just over two months since its launch. Consumers are finding the XUV300 to be an exciting and comprehensive package that offers thrilling performance, first-in-segment safety features and head-turning design, which is reflected in these impressive booking numbers."
The Mahindra XUV300 is available with two engine options: 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The petrol unit is a turbocharged three-cylinder mill which churns out 81 kW (111.5 PS) of maximum power at 5,000 rpm and 200 Nm of peak torque at 2,000-3,500 rpm. The diesel engine delivers 85.8 kW (116.5 PS) of maximum power at 3,750 rpm and 300 Nm of peak torque at 1,500-2,500 rpm. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard. The fuel economy rating of the sub-4 metre SUV is 17 km/l (petrol)/20 km/l (diesel). The petrol engine configurations account for a substantial chunk of the demand.
Projector headlamps with LED DRLs, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED tail lights and dual-tone roof rails are some of the exterior highlights of the Mahindra XUV300. Inside, the small SUV comes with features like electric sunroof, leatherette upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
