Mahindra XUV500 facelift caught with chrome handles, LED stoplight - Spied
Likely to gain an AT and Hybrid variant.
The Mahindra XUV500 facelift was caught testing in Chennai yet again. Expected to launch later in the year, Mahindra would be rolling out minor cosmetic changes to its flagship SUV.
Seen in this test mule are chrome door handles (which are nevertheless available as an after-marked accessory), new LED units for the spoiler integrated stoplight, a possible redesign of the registration plate enclosure, and what looks like a new alloy wheel pattern. Minor changes to the dashboard could also be expected.
The XUV500 facelift is unlikely to see any changes to its engine. The 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel unit makes 140 bhp and 330 Nm of torque, and is paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. A 6-speed automatic transmission (identical to the one seen on the Ssangyong Tivoli) could be introduced on the XUV500 facelift.

Mahindra also showcased a hybrid concept on the XUV500 at last year's Auto Expo. Company officials told Indian Autos Blog that concept cars are not merely show cars, and that they would see realization to a production model.
