Maruti Alto 800 Anniversary Edition launched at Rs 3.12 lakh, brochure inside

It is surprising how time flies. It seems just yesterday Maruti Suzuki launched the Alto 800 in the Indian market to take on the Hyundai Eon. Today, the automaker is celebrating the first anniversary of the Alto 800.

The Anniversary edition celebrates the first anniversary of the Maruti Alto 800.

The company has launched the Maruti Alto 800 Anniversary Edition to commemorate the little hatchback’s birthday, with features such as -

  • Purple Haze body color
  • New body graphics
  • New seat upholstery
  • Blacked-out B-Pillar
  • Body side molding
  • Rear parcel tray
  • Body colored side mirror
  • Audio system (Optional)

This model has been launched at Rs 3.12 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Alto 800 was launched in the Indian market to succeed the aging Alto F8D and Maruti 800 models. The initial enthusiasm was hugely encouraging and since then, the car has sustained the momentum in the entry-level small car market. In the last month, the Alto 800 along with the Alto K10 sold more than 23,000 units.

When the car was launched, petrol prices were shooting through the roof. So for the first time ever, Maruti made sure that the car was available with a CNG option right from the beginning to have a wider operational field.

Highlights include a new purple body color, body graphics, rear parcel tray, body side moulding and new seat upholstery.

In the recent months, we have seen Maruti Suzuki launch two special edition models - WagonR Madhavan Signature Edition and Alto K10 Musik edition. The Alto 800 Anniversary Edition makes it a third strike in less than two months. This highlights the fact that Maruti Suzuki, the biggest automaker in India, is struggling to sell cars in the current turbulent circumstances.
