Maruti Alto 800 and Swift Dzire launched in Philippines

The Maruti Alto 800 and the Maruti Swift Dzire manufactured exclusively in India have been launched in Philippines.

Not long ago, Maruti Suzuki India was hardly able to cater to the local demand for these cars but the situation has taken a turn almost suddenly. While the Alto more or less manages to maintain the status quo the Dzire's prospects are dented to some extent by the Honda Amaze. Not to mention the arrival of the Ford EcoSport, and the downturn in the market conditions haven't helped matters.

It's to be noted that India is the only production base for both cars. The launch of the models in Philippines would compensate for the slowing demand of these cars in the domestic market to some extent. The duo will join Suzuki Philippines' existing lineup which includes Celerio (A-Star, another India-made product), Swift, SX4 Crossover, Grand Vitara, Jimny and Kizashi.
