The Maruti Alto K10 Musik Edition has been launched today in India. This is another attempt by Maruti-Suzuki, the country's largest carmaker, to increase its sales during the festive season through launching special/limited edition variants.

This time around, Maruti needs such special editions to drive sales as the carmaker has announced a price hike that would be enforced in the coming days. The price hike varies from INR 3,000 to 10,000.

The Maruti Alto K-10 Musik Edition gets a music system with speakers, some body decals and ambient lighting!

The Musik Edition sees 10 additional features included. As the name suggests, this hatchback carries the theme of music and the features complement the theme well. A JVC MP3 player with USB support and 4-inch front speakers are central to the Musik Edition.

On the outside, a music inspired body decal along with the 'Alto K10' and 'Musik' logos differentiate the special edition from regular variants. Rear spoiler and mud flaps, which are usually additional accessories, are complimentary.

Maruti has announced a price hike that would see models getting expensive by INR 3,000 to INR 10,000.

On the inside, Maruti say that it has incorporated 'Ambient Lighting'! This along with seat covers, a steering wheel cover and floor mats are the novelties on the Musik Edition.

Expect to cough up an additional INR 10,000 to 15,000 for this special edition over the LXi/VXi trim. Goes without saying, but there aren't any mechanical differences. The same three-cylinder 1.0-liter K-Series motor producing 68PS and 90Nm of torque continues doing duty.
