Price hike across all models.
Maruti Suzuki, India's largest car maker, will be hiking prices across its range.
Maruti’s executive director (Marketing and Sales), R S Kalsi said that the increase in prices range from 2-4 per cent and it applies from January 2015. The price hike will be for the entire range of models. He also added that the company was bearing the impact of input costs for a while due to the poor market condition and did not roll out a price hike earlier.
The company followed in the footsteps of other car makers like Nissan, Datsun and Hyundai who have also announced an increase in prices.
Going forth, Maruti plans to launch at least 8 new models in 2015. New models from Maruti for 2015 are the SX4 S-Cross and YRA premium hatchback. The S-Cross which is expected early next year will compete with the Renault Duster and Mahindra Scorpio, while the YRA will launch towards the second half of 2015 and will be positioned above the Swift.
