Maruti Baleno-based Toyota Glanza to be launched on 6 June - Report
The Maruti Baleno-based Toyota Glanza's launch will take place on 6 June 2019, as per a new report from GaadiWaadi.com. Codenamed 'A11', this model's production has already commenced.
For now, the Toyota Glanza is being manufactured at Suzuki's Gujarat plant. Later, when parts sourcing is sorted out, its production will be shifted to Toyota Kirloskar's Motor's production facility in Bidadi, near Bangalore. This move will not only free-up space at Suzuki's Gujarat plant but also help TKM to utilise the idle production capacity at the Bidadi plant.
The Toyota Glanza is expected to have some design differences at the front and rear, such as differently designed front grille, bumpers, headlights and tail lights to make it look as if it's originally a Toyota. There won't be any sheet-metal changes, so as to keep the costs as low as possible. From certain angles, it may look like a customised Maruti Baleno to many.

The Toyota Glanza is said to be launched with two engine options: K12B 1.2-litre VVT naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol and K10C 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbocharged three-cylinder petrol. Power will go to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission. TKM will sell the car in only Zeta and Alpha grades.
