Maruti Baleno RS to launch in February 2017 - Report
Second product from Maruti to launch in 2017.
Following the Maruti Ignis, the next product from Maruti is reportedly the hotter Maruti Baleno RS. According to Autocar India, the Baleno RS will launch for sale in February 2017.
Unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016 last February, the Baleno RS is Maruti's first hot hatchback that will rival VW Polo GT TSI and Fiat Abarth Punto. It will feature more than just a sporty body kit, the highlight being the all new 1.0L Boosterjet 3-cyl petrol engine under the hood, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. With its lightweight platform and 110 PS power output, expect the Baleno RS to be sprightly off the line.
Reports suggest that the Baleno RS will source the equipment list from the top-end Baleno Alpha grade, so expect features such as Bi-xenon automatic headlamps with LED DRLs, dual airbags and ABS, rain-sensing wipers, 7 inch SmartPlay infotainment system with navigation and Apple Carplay, reverse camera and parking sensors, electrochromic IRVM, multi-info color display and start/stop button.

Like the regular Baleno, the Baleno RS will also be sold through Maruti's NEXA line of premium of dealerships. Its pricing will carry a premium over the range-topping Maruti Baleno Alpha.
