Maruti Dzire production to increase to 20,000 units/month - Report

The 2017 Maruti Dzire was launched in India in May and it is still in high demand. The sub-compact sedan's sales crossed 1 lakh units in October, and it beat the Maruti Alto to become the country’s best-selling car for three consecutive months.

Last month, the 2017 Maruti Dzire had a waiting period of around 17-18 weeks.

To meet the 2017 Maruti Dzire’s high demand, the company will ramp up monthly production to 20,000 units. R.C. Bhargava, Chairman, Maruti Suzuki, revealed this development in an interview with BloombergQuint. Towards the end of last month, reports said that the Dzire had a waiting period of around 17-18 weeks.

The 2017 Maruti Dzire is available in four grades: LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+. There two engine options: 1.2-litre VVT petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS 190 diesel. The four-cylinder petrol engine produces 61 kW (81.77 hp) and 113 Nm of torque. The four-cylinder diesel engine develops 55 kW (73.73 hp) and 190 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual transmission sends power to the wheels. The AMT option is available in the VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ grades. ARAI has given a fuel economy rating of 22 km/l (petrol)/28.4 km/l (diesel) to the all-new Maruti Dzire.

The 2017 Maruti Dzire is available in four grades: LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+.

The 2017 Maruti Dzire petrol’s prices range from INR 5.43-8.37 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) while the diesel variant starts at INR 6.44 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and goes up to INR 9.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
