Maruti Ertiga facelift spotted again, could get AMT - Spied
Launch expected in mid 2015.
A Maruti Ertiga test mule was caught earlier this month, strengthening the fact that Maruti Suzuki is readying a facelifted version of the MPV for the Indian market. The vehicle is likely to get a few mechanical changes as well, including possibly an automated gearbox. Another picture of the test vehicle shows the front end concealed by a black masking tape, indicating that the bumper and grille will receive a redesign.
Other changes expected on the outside include new alloy wheel designs, minor tweaks to the rear bumper, and inclusion of new paint schemes. The Ertiga facelift is expected to receive an updated interior, in order to get similar features as the new Maruti Swift including keyless entry and start, a Bluetooth-enabled audio system, electrically foldable rear view mirrors, etc., on the top-end variant.
And also like the Swift, the engines are expected to be optimized for better efficiency than the current version. The current 1.4-litre K-series petrol engine delivers 16.02 km/l, and the 1.3-litre diesel 20.77 km/l. A 10 per cent increase in efficiency like in the case of the new Swift can be expected.
While Suzuki offers a 4-speed automatic gearbox for the Ertiga in markets abroad, the Indian market could get an automated manual transmission for the vehicle, points out the earlier report.
