Maruti Ignis confirmed to launch in Jan-March 2017 period - Report
Will be retailed from NEXA outlets.
Speaking to CNBC-TV18, Mr. RS Kalsi, ED, Marketing & Sales of Maruti Suzuki, confirmed that the launch of the Maruti Ignis will take place in the fourth quarter of this financial year (January - March 2017 period).
Mr. Kalsi said -
I would like to say that this car [Ignis] would be coming on the Indian roads sometime in Q4. So, it will happen in this fiscal, but in Q4.
At the Auto Expo 2016, where the Maruti Ignis had its Indian debut, the company announced a launch for the festive season this year. However, owing to the increased demand for the Maruti Baleno and Maruti Vitara Brezza, the company is focusing on minimizing their waiting periods which current stand at up to 33 weeks for the Baleno and 27 weeks for Vitara Brezza.
When launched, the Maruti Ignis will be available with 1.2-liter K-Series petrol and 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engines, paired to manual and reportedly automated manual transmissions.
Sales of the Maruti Ignis will take place out of the premium NEXA outlets, which currently retail the Maruti S-Cross and Maruti Baleno.
