Making its Indian debut at the Auto Expo 2016, the Maruti Ignis is largely identical to the Suzuki Ignis sold in Japan, save for slight design tweaks and roof rails for certain distinction. The Ignis measures 3,700 mm long, 1,660 mm in wide, 1,595 mm in high, has a 2,435 mm long wheelbase and a 180 mm high ground clearance.

The India-spec Maruti Ignis is likely to be powered by the 1.2-liter K12B engine with VVT or a 1.3-liter DDiS engine. Reports suggest that the latter option could be fitted with Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid tech. A 5-speed manual will be standard in both variants, while a CVT could be exclusive to the petrol variant, as stated above.
