Maruti S-Cross to get 2018 Maruti Ciaz’s safety features - Report

Maruti Suzuki will soon introduce the facelifted Ciaz’s safety features in the S-Cross, an internal document leaked by Team-BHP admin GTO has revealed. The company will roll out some equipment revisions as well.

2019 Maruti S-Cross feature change
The Maruti S-Cross will gain speed alert system and co-driver seatbelt reminder.

The Maruti S-Cross will gain speed alert system and co-driver seatbelt reminder with the upcoming update, both as standard features. Driver seatbelt reminder is already available (as standard) in the premium crossover. Maruti Suzuki will make rear parking sensors standard. Driver airbag (and front passenger airbag too) is already standard, and so, the S-Cross will become compliant with the more stringent safety norms that come into effect in July 2019, well in advance.

The Maruti S-Cross is available in Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha grades, and that will remain unchanged with the upcoming update. The Delta grade will gain machined alloy wheels, electrically foldable ORVMs with integrated turn signals, rear screen washer & wiper, passive keyless entry and engine start-stop button. The Delta and Zeta grades, except gaining the speed alert system and co-driver seatbelt reminder, will have no changes.

The Maruti S-Cross is available with only the D13A 1.3-litre engine that produces 66 kW (90 PS) and 200 Nm of torque. The BS IV-compliant engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard.

It will be interesting to see how soon MSIL will introduce the new Ciaz’s K15B 1.5-litre petrol engine in the S-Cross.
