Maruti Suzuki Ignis touches 1 lakh sales milestone
Maruti Suzuki has sold over one lakh units of Ignis since its launch in January 2017. It was the second hatchback after the Baleno to be added to the Nexa range and accounts for over 3,000 units sales every month.
In February, Maruti Suzuki launched the 2019 Ignis with more safety features and enhanced styling. With the 2019 update, the car gained co-driver Seat Belt Reminder and High Speed Alert System. Also, reverse parking sensors were made standard across the range, which comprises Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha grades. Apart from that, other important safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belt pre-tensioners with force limiters and ISOFIX child seat mounts were always part of the Ignis' standard safety kit.
On the outside, the Maruti Suzuki Ignis comes with LED projector headlamps and DRLs, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, trapezoidal 5-spoke black alloy wheels and LED taillamps. Roof rails for a more rugged look were added with the MY2019 update. Automatic climate control, SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink, black & ivory dual tone dashboard and cockpit styled console panel are some of the interior highlights.
The Maruti Ignis employs the K12M 1.2-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine which delivers 61 kW (82.94 PS) of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of peak torque at 4,200 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual transmission. The fuel economy rating is 20.89 km/l.
