Bookings underway for Maruti's first compact SUV.
Despite its price announcement on March 8, the Maruti Vitara Brezza will be available for sale only from March 21, a report from Economic Times states. However, bookings for the compact SUV started last month for a deposit of INR 21,000.
The Vitara Brezza to recap, is powered by the 1.3-liter four-cylinder DDiS diesel engine capable of 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque. It will be offered solely with a 5-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive arrangement, though an AMT is under consideration for a later period.
The Vitara Brezza will reportedly come in six variants with a driver airbag offered as standard even on the base LDi and VDi variants. However, buyers can also choose an option pack which adds ABS and a passenger airbag on these variants. Higher variants such as the ZDi and ZDi+ get these features as standard in addition to climate control, cruise control, alloy wheels, projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, dual-tone exterior color and a SmartPlay entertainment-cum-navigation system.
