Maruti Vitara Brezza's production to increase to 10,000/month from July
Second production revision for the Ford EcoSport-rival.
A vendor for Maruti Suzuki told The Economic Times newspaper that the car maker will increase production output of their latest launch, the Maruti Vitara Brezza compact SUV. Initially, Maruti planned to manufacture 80,000 units of the Vitara Brezza in the first year, a target which was soon revised to 100,000 units.
Now though, Maruti will be ramping production to 10,000 units/month (from July) which translates to a projected 120,000 units/annum. The increase in production comes on the back of high demand for the compact SUV. Since its launch (deliveries commenced on March 25), over 70,000 bookings have been registered with 52,000 of those still in order. Maruti has delivered 20,588 units of the Vitara Brezza to customers thus far.
The Vitara Brezza is powered by the 1.3-liter four-cylinder DDiS diesel engine which develops 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque, and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. It delivers a class-leading, ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 24.3 km/l.
