Could be offered only on the VXi trim.

The Maruti Wagon R AMT is expected to be launched in India in a few days. It will be the third model in the company's lineup to be equipped with the 'Auto Gear Shift' system, after the Maruti Celerio and the Maruti Alto K10.

ABS and airbags are optional on the VXi version of the Wagon R. It is unclear if these safety features will be offered on the AMT equipped VXi models.

Like the other two models, the AMT version of the Wagon R is powered by the 998 cc three-cylinder K10B all-aluminium engine that produces 68 PS at 6,200 rpm and 90 Nm at 3,500 rpm. The Automated Manual Transmission system is a 5-speed unit.

The Maruti Wagon R AMT version is powered by the 1.0-litre petrol engine in the same tune as in the manual transmission variants.

It is reported that the AGS system will be offered only on the VXi variant, which has been snapped at a dealership yard already. The VXi version of the Wagon R typically gets foglamps on the front, a keyless entry system, a power steering with tilt adjustment, power windows, a manual air-conditioning system, electrically adjustable mirrors, a music system, a rear wiper and washer, and 14-inch steel wheels.
