Maruti XL6 vs. Maruti Ertiga: Design, specs, features & pricing compared
After several months of speculations and spy shots, the Maruti Suzuki XL6 was finally launched in the Indian market yesterday. The XL6 has been positioned as a more premium offering compared to the Ertiga on which it is based. To make the product differentiation certain, it is sold through the Nexa dealerships, not the Arena dealerships. Here's comprehensive comparison between the Maruti XL6 vs Ertiga.
Maruti XL6 vs Ertiga Interior and Exterior
On the outside, the XL6 has a more premium design which appeals to a more niche set of audience. It gets a unique looking black hexagonal grille at the front with twin chrome slats which bridges in between the sharper headlights, chunkier front bumper, re-positioned front fog lamps, faux skid plates, black cladding on the lower body, silver garnish on the rocker panels, silver roof rails and restyled rear bumper. The company has made use of all these styling elements in a way that the XL6 look more rugged as well as premium compared to the Ertiga which look basic in all sense. The Ertiga, even though more polished in the second generation, looks rather utilitarian relatively.
The company has given the Maruti XL6 a number of eye-catching unique features such as quad-LED headlamps, all-black alloy wheels, roof rails, all-black interior, captain seats on the second row compared to the bench-seats in the Ertiga, it also gets third-row reclining seats, 7-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, leather seats and cruise control.
