Maruti YRA premium hatchback (Jazz rival) snapped inside and out - Spied

Based on the Suzuki iK-2 concept which debuted at the Geneva motor show this year.

TeamBHP has posted new images of the forthcoming Maruti YRA (codename) premium hatchback which is expected to launch in India around Diwali (November) this year.

The YRA could debut the 1.0-liter Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine for the company.

The front fascia of this export version (left-hand drive) sports a chrome grille, with peeled-back headlights with projector units. The side profile of the hatch, which is expected to measure more than 4 meters in length, gets 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, chrome door handles with keyless entry and wing mirror mounted turn indicators.

Towards the rear, the YRA gets a chrome applique on its bootlid with a hidden reverse camera, a rear wiper and washer and a rear spoiler with a high-mounted brake light.

Inside, the YRA features an all-black interior with silver highlights for the center console. The familiar three-spoke steering wheel has integrated buttons for the audio system and cruise control, while the center console features vertically-designed HVAC vents with a touchscreen entertainment system (much different from the SmartPlay unit).

Set to be positioned above the Swift, the YRA is expected to be measure more than 4 meters in length.

Other noteworthy features on the YRA include climate control, a passenger-side airbag deactivation button, heated front seats, and a 5-speed manual gearbox, though previous spyshots have also shown an automatic transmission on the hatchback.

When launched in India, the YRA is expected with the 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine, and a 1.2-liter K-Series petrol or an all-new 1.0-liter Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine.
