Not officially launched by McLaren, but imported from the Middle East by the owner.

According to Supercars|India, supercar owner RSM, who currently owns a Ferrari 488 GTB, 458 Italia and Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4, has placed an order for the nation's first McLaren 720S.

The vehicle will be imported from the Middle East as an RHD and is expected to arrive for delivery towards the end of June 2017.

McLaren Automotive is yet to launch commercial operations in India, so folks interested in owning a McLaren only have the option to import it directly. Unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show in March, the 720S is McLaren's first car from the second generation Super Series portfolio developed and manufactured at the MTC (McLaren Technology Centre) in Woking. Built around McLaren’s new Monocage II carbon fibre tub, it's 18 kg lighter and more rigid than the older McLaren 650S.

Powering the 720S is a new 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine producing 710 bhp and 770 Nm of peak torque. It's sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox and the car is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. The 720S can hit a top speed of 341 km/h, making it one of the fastest cars in India.

The 720S is available in three trim levels: Standard, Luxury and Performance, and can be spec'd with a wide variety of custom options from MSO (McLaren Special Operations), which can drive up the price significantly.
