Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain coming to India in 2018

Following the footsteps of Volvo, Mercedes-Benz will launch a rugged variant of its executive estate in India. The German automaker has announced that it will add the Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain to its lineup in India in 2018. Before going on sale in India, the Mercedes E-Class Terrain will have its local debut at Auto Expo 2018, which starts February 7 onwards.

The Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain is a direct rival of the Audi A6 allroad and the Volvo V90 Cross Country.

Introduced at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, the Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain is a direct rival of the Volvo V90 Cross Country and the Audi A6 Allroad. Estates aren’t popular in India, however, Mercedes-Benz does see a potential for its All-Terrain variant.

The Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain combines the practicality of an estate with the tough character and rough-road capabilities of an SUV. Exterior highlights include a Mercedes-Benz SUV-style twin-louvre front grille with a centrally placed logo, distinctive three-part bumpers, black wheel arch cladding, black side skirts with a chrome strip, exclusive (19- or 20-inch) alloy wheels and robust outer load sill protection.

Inside, the Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain gets a trim element in an exclusive aluminium-carbon-fibre look, stainless steel sports pedals with rubber studs and floor mats with All-Terrain lettering.

The Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain measures 4,947 mm long, 1,861 mm wide, and 1,497 mm tall. It has a 2,939 mm wheelbase. The E-Class All-Terrain rides 29 mm higher than the E-Class Estate. Larger tyres give a rise of 14 mm and an air suspension, under normal driving conditions, adds 15 mm. The ground clearance varies from 121 to 156 mm.
