Expected to launch by mid-2016.
An import document has revealed that Mercedes Benz India has imported the Mercedes GLC into the country for homologation purposes, indicating a nearing launch date.
The model imported is the Mercedes GLC 300 4MATIC variant, which is powered by a 2.0-liter four cylinder turbo petrol engine that delivers 241 hp and 370 Nm. It is paired to a 9-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and is equipped with a 4MATIC AWD system.
Mercedes will also introduce the diesel variants, which include an entry level GLC 220d that delivers 170 hp and 400 Nm of torque, a GLC 250d with 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque. Given that they displace above 2.0-liters (2,143 cc, to be precise), these variants could be introduced after the restrictions on diesel cars in Delhi cars are lifted.
