The Maybach S600 is the penultimate flagship in Mercedes's portfolio (an even more luxurious Pullman was showcased at this year's IAA). Unveiled in November last year, the models bring back the 'Maybach' nameplate, but this time, integrated within the 'S Class' series.

The Maybach S500 and S600 are 206 mm longer than an S Class, with all of the extra-length going towards the wheelbase. A new grille, exclusive alloy wheels, extended rear doors, Maybach logo on the C-Pillars and the 'Maybach' name on the bootlid are visual cues in identifying a Maybach.

Inside, the individual rear seats can be reclined even more to 43 degrees, and they continue to offer a configurable massage system, including a Hot-stone massage. Rear seat passengers also get seatbelt airbags in addition to deployable tables, a 1,540 Watt 24-speaker Burmester 3D surround sound system, a panoramic roof and a rear entertainment system.

The Maybach S600 is powered by a 6.0-liter V12 Bi-Turbo engine capable of 530 hp and 830 Nm of torque, paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Mercedes claims the Maybach S600 is the quietest car in the world for rear seat passengers. The locally assembled Maybach S500 on the other hand sources power from a 4.7-liter V8 rated for 459 hp and 700 Nm of torque.
