According to a report by Bangkok Post, the MG 3 facelift will be launched in the Thai market in 2018. The report does not shed light on the exact timeline of the launch, however. Spy shots of the updated version of the hatchback testing in Thailand surfaced online last month.

The updated MG 3 is slated to go on sale in the Thai market in 2018.

A number of exterior changes have been made to the updated MG 3. Up front, it gets reshaped halogen projector headlamps with LED DRLs, a larger radiator grille, a reprofiled bonnet, and a sharper bumper. The tailgate has undergone a minor redesign with the door handle migrating to the bottom. The tail lamps graphics and the bumper are also new, and the MG 3 facelift rides on new alloy wheels

The interior of the MG 3 has received a major overhaul with the mid-cycle refresh. Changes include a redesigned steering wheel, dashboard, centre console, and air vents. There's an 8-inch central display for the new infotainment system.

Changes to the MG 3 include an updated front fascia and extensive changes to the interior.

Powering the Thai-spec MG 3 is a 1.5-litre VTi-TECH petrol engine that produces 106 PS and 135 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed SeleMatic automated manual transmission. The facelift could bring with it a new version of the 1.5-litre VTi-TECH engine that churns out 114 PS and 150 Nm of torque. A 4-speed automatic transmission may replace the AMT.
