MG Hector to be officially unveiled on 15 May
The MG Hector was privately displayed to dealers last month, and on the 15th of this month, it will be unveiled to the media. Sales of the C-SUV are expected to commence next month.
The new MG Hector is basically a reskinned Baojun 530 packing a unique grille design. It's noticeably big for a model its class, and it will rub shoulders with the likes of Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson. In terms of appearance, the car gets two-tier front light setup which looks eccentric and comes with the DRLs sitting atop the twin-pod headlamps. The headlamps and the fog lamps are placed beneath them come chrome surround. Elsewhere, the C-SUV features 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and LED tail lights.
On the inside, the MG Hector packs a 10.4-inch iSMART Next Gen touchscreen infotainment system. This system runs on a 4G connected Android-based operating system and offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Like the much smaller, lower-segment Hyundai Venue, the MG Hector is being marketed as a connected SUV. We have detailed all its main connectivity features in a dedicated story. Apart from this, the Chinese SUV features a 360-degree camera, a 7-inch driver information display and a panoramic sunroof.
