Mitsubishi announces Lancer Evolution X Final Concept - Japan

To be showcased at the 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X will soon cease to be a part of the Japanese car maker's lineup, but before that happens, it will make an appearance at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon in a special edition version. Called the Final Concept, the vehicle is, the last model based on the Evolution X.

Updated internals in the Final Concept help the 2-litre engine produce 473 hp.

Based on the GSR variant, the Final Concept comes with a couple of upgrades both on the inside and the outside. Starting from the exterior, which is now covered in matte black paint while parts like the roof and rear spoiler get a gloss finish, and the grille a chrome finish.

The car gets HKS' height adjustable sport suspension, and the forged aluminium wheels by RAYS come shod with 19-inch Yokohama Advan Neovas. Other mechanical upgrades include a turbocharger by HKS, new intake, exhaust, cooling system and a new ECU which all work in conjunction to help the 2-litre engine produce a maximum of 473 hp. Power is sent to all wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox and Mitsubishi's 4WD system.

While the Final Concept is more powerful, it shares the basics with the Evolution X (pictured here).
