After India, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport says hello to Europe

Five months after launching the new Pajero Sport in India, Mitsubishi Motors unveiled it to Europe at the recently concluded Moscow motor show.

The Pajero Sport will be sold in Europe later this year and will be assembled at the company’s plant in Kaluga, Russia. The manufacturing facility is run in partnership with the PSA Peugeot-Citroen group.

The exteriors are very much the same as the Indian version. Apparently Mitsubishi has used better quality plastics for the interiors to satisfy the unforgiving European customers.

The only visual change to the interior comes from the touch screen, which now runs on an updated operating system and has buttons on either side. Also, the music system is integrated into the touch screen. If you clearly remember, the Indian version had a separate, dated looking music system.

The European Pajero Sport is powered by  2.5 litre diesel engine generating 131 Bhp. The engine complies with the Euro 5 emission norms. Both manual and automatic transmissions are offered. In addition to this, the Russian model gets a 3.0 litre, V6 petrol motor with a power output of 220 Bhp.

All the variants are equipped with ESP, traction control, 6 airbags and cruise control as standard. Leather seats will be offered in some markets.

With the Pajero Sport, Mitsubishi is expecting to rake in higher volumes from the European market especially in Russia.
