Mitsubishi Xpander reaches Thailand for local testing

The Mitsubishi Xpander’s deliveries in Indonesia commenced just last month. Now, the crossover MPV has reached Thailand for local testing, spy shots have revealed.

The Mitsubishi Xpander is Mitsubishi’s latest product in the MPV space. The SUV-styled MPV is 4,475 mm long, 1,750 mm wide and 1,700 mm height. It has a 2,775 mm wheelbase and a high ground clearance of 205 mm. The 7-seat people mover is powered by the 1.5-litre MIVEC engine that produces 105 PS and 141 Nm of torque. The four-cylinder petrol mill sends power to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The Mitsubishi Xpander is available in Indonesia in GLX, GLS, Exceed, Sport and Ultimate grades. Noteworthy features include two-tier headlamps with LED position lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, LED rear combination lights, engine start-stop button, fully foldable second- and third-row seats, touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking camera, dual-front airbags, ABS, ASC and HSA.

Mitsubishi builds the Mitsubishi Xpander at the Bekasi assembly plant in Indonesia. The company has confirmed that it will commence exports of the Xpander to ASEAN markets in early 2018. It could showcase the three-row MPV at the 2018 Bangkok Motor Show in March.
