Hero Splendor sheds its commuter skin for a cafe racer look

Hero MotoCorp may have sold the Splendor Pro Classic as a cafe racer inspired motorcycle, but that probably won't cut it for the folks at Aero Customs. This Splendor cafe racer by Aero Customs has received a complete overhaul in the form of custom-built body panels and revised ergonomics. The braking and suspension setup, however, is in the stock form.

Modified Hero Splendor Cafe Racer by Aero Customs gets a unique fuel tank, saddle and fenders. The motorcycle retains its stock suspension and braking systems.

The Splendor used by Aero Customs was the standard model and not the Pro Classic 'cafe racer.'

The fascia receives a round headlight with chrome housing and a chrome ring. A compact, custom-made front fender sits above the front wheel. Behind the light is a twin-pod instrument console. The cockpit is accompanied by a clip-on style handlebar that gives the motorcycle a forward-leaning ergonomics.

On the top of the custom fuel tank is a retro-styled fuel filler cap while on the sides are knee recesses. The avoid a monotonous look, the blue fuel tank gets the white border and a Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement Logistics Division or S.H.I.E.L.D. logo. Any Marvel fans here?

The flat, single-piece saddle, with a beige colour and stitched Diamond Pattern, follow the fuel tank. A custom, body coloured rear fender occupies the rear. Similar to the fuel tank, the rear fender gets white graphics. The stock tail light has been traded for a compact LED strip at the back.

The sides reveal an aftermarket exhaust and a free-flow air-filter that should give a marginal bump to the performance numbers. For reference, the stock motorcycle uses a 97.2 cc, four-stroke, air-cooled, OHC, single cylinder engine that is tuned to deliver 8.36 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a four-speed gearbox.

The rear of the motorcycle gets a minimal look with the compact, LED tail light that has been installed behind the saddle.

Braking and suspension setup has been retained from the stock motorcycle. Thus, you would spot drum brakes on the front and at the rear. Suspension duties are performed by a conventional telescopic front fork while at the rear is a twin-sided shock absorber.

The stock motorcycle, as seen in one of the images (check image gallery below), uses alloy wheels. However, to give the Splendor a cafe racer inspired look, Aero Customs have installed a pair of wire-spoke wheels.
