MQB A0-based 2018 VW Vento (VW Polo Sedan) Rendered

Could launch in Brazil next year.

Autoblog Argentina has created a rendering of the 2018 VW Vento, based on recent spy shots of a test mule and reports that followed it.

The 2018 VW Vento will sit on the MQB A0 platform and is reported to gain more wheelbase for improved rear seat comfort.

Although the model (known as the VW Voyage) sold in South America differs from the Vento, reports sound confident that VW is concurrently developing the next generation VW Gol and Polo, and that it is likely that the next gen VW Voyage and VW Vento (VW Polo Sedan) will be the same vehicle.

Derived from the low-cost version of the MQB platform - MQB A0 - the 2018 VW Vento is reported to offer a longer wheelbase than the current model. The test mule spied appeared to be wider than the outgoing model which, along with the new wheelbase, will improve the experience of rear occupants.

Expect the 2018 VW Vento to be heavily localised and adapted to Indian conditions.

The 2018 VW Vento's engine lineup is reported to include the 1.4 MPI engine, 1.2 TSI engine and a 1.5L TDI diesel engine available with manual and DSG automatic gearboxes. Also expected for the India-spec Vento is increased localisation and big India-specific changes to the mechanical package and electronics.
