On the sidelines of the launch, Ajinkya Firodia, MD, MotoRoyale Kinetic spoke to IAB about the future product strategy and the motorcycles that we can expect to see in India in the coming months. One of the products that Firodia confirmed for our market was the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 tourer that is likely to arrive by March 2019.

Firodia said:

We have a host of MVs (in India) but there are many more... The Turismo Veloce suddenly is doing very well worldwide because they now have a variant called SCS in which you don’t have to use the clutch. Yes, eventually we want to make all the MVs available and so it (Turismo Veloce 800) is slated for a 2019 launch... between January to March.

The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 will compete with the likes of Triumph Tiger 800 XR range and Ducati Multistrada 950.

Mechanical specifications include a 798cc three-cylinder, 12-valve, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 110 hp of maximum power at 10,150 rpm and 80 Nm of peak torque at 7,100 rpm. This engine can propel the motorcycle to a claimed top speed of 230 km/h. 320 mm double floating disc brakes at the front and 220 mm single steel disc at the rear bring the motorcycle to a halt.

Marzocchi upside-down telescopic hydraulic forks at the front and progressive Sachs, single shock absorber at the rear, perform suspension duties.

Being a tourer, the Turismo Veloce 800 features a semi-fairing design that is accompanied by a tall windscreen to offer wind protection. The front blinkers are integrated into the knuckle guards that give the fascia a clean look. The fuel tank gets a chiselled look that makes it an absolute treat to the eyes. Behind the fuel tank is a split seat setup. On the sides, there are stunning triple exhaust outlets and the single-sided swingarm that make the motorcycle look like a proper exotic. The motorcycle is road-focused, and so, it uses wheels of the same size at both ends.

A tall handlebar ensures upright and comfortable ergonomics so that the rider could clock miles with maximum comfort.
