The vehicle has been spotted on several occasions in the past through spy photographs and a leaked video from what appeared to be a dealer meeting. In fact, the 2020 Challenger was partially revealed by Indian Motorcycles though an official photograph.

Styling cues on the upcoming Indian Challenger will include the front fender-mounted Indian “War Bonnet”, semi-fairing setup, an Indian Scout style fuel tank with flat sides and backward sweeping handlebar. The motorcycle will ride on alloy wheels instead of wire-spoke units, which will bring the convenience of tubeless tyres. The full LED headlight will add a modern touch to the visuals. Being a bagger-style touring motorcycle, the Indian Challenger will feature hard panniers.

Like the Indian Chieftain, the Challenger should also benefit from an electronically adjustable windscreen and remote lock for the panniers. The details about the instrument console are yet to be revealed. We could see the Indian Roadmaster-style semi-digital instrument console on the Challenger. A touch screen display could be part of the package.

Cruiser-style ergonomics will include rear set handlebar and forward placed footboard for a laidback ride experience. The hardware specifications will comprise inverted telescopic front forks to perform the shock absorption tasks. The rear setup is yet to be revealed. Braking hardware will feature twin discs at the front and a single disc at the back – both featuring Brembo sourced callipers.
