Spied - New Bajaj Pulsar 200 (faired) tests in Lavasa, more details emerge
Only yesterday we showed you a close-up image of the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 200 thanks to Nitin Aggarwal who snapped the bike in Lavasa, Maharashtra. Nitin has shared more close-up images of the new Pulsar 200 and here they are.
To recap the new Pulsar 200, we think it would be based on the 200NS' platform and would be powered by the 199.5cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine. For the new 200, Bajaj may decide to offer a fuel-injected version of this engine, which could also make its way into the 200NS. The new 200 would have its power and torque figures in the whereabouts of 23 bhp and 18 Nm, while a 6-speed gearbox will perform the transmission duties.
On the features front, the new 200 will sport twin projector headlights and based on this image, it appears to be very similar to that of the KTM RC390. We also expect the top-end variants to sport ABS.
According to RushLane, Nitin also managed to get seated on the bike and says that the seats are "comfortable, even for the pillion".
Early media reports speculate that Bajaj could call this bike the 200SS (SuperSports). The launch of the new 200 should take place very soon, maybe even before this year comes to an end. Or maybe Bajaj could delay the 200SS for an Auto Expo showcase in February next year.
