New Ducati Multistrada V4 to arrive in 2021
Ducati has confirmed that the Multistrada V4 will arrive in 2021. The motorcycle, which was spotted during its pre-production test run in Italy in June this year, will share its Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine with the Panigale V4 and the upcoming Streetfighter naked roadster.

Ducati stated in a press announcement:
Development is ongoing, and in 2021 the Multistrada family will expand to see the twin cylinder 1260 and 950 motorcycles joined by a version with a new, specific V4 engine.
Similar to the current Multistrada 1260 model, the V4-powered Multistrada V4 will most likely be available in at least two variants – Standard and the S. There could alos be a Pikes Peak edition of the motorcycle. Unless Ducati decided to bump up the displacement, all three models will most likely use a 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale 90° V4, liquid-cooled engine. The performance numbers would be higher than on the current generation motorcycle. The maximum power output could be in the range of 170-180 HP. On the current Multistrada 1260, for reference, this engine makes 158 HP of peak power at 9,500 rpm and 129.5 Nm of maximum torque at 7,500 rpm.
The Multistrada V4 that was seen in the spy video did not appear to be very different from the current model. One can expect twin-pod, LED headlight at the front along with a beak-style design to the fascia and a semi-fairing layout. The tail section and the single-sided swingarm on the Multistrada V4 test mule looked nearly identical to the current Multistrada 1260. However, the exhaust was noticeably different. The canister appeared to be taller than that of the current Multistrada family products.
The touring-focused design will comprise the tall-set handlebar and relatively forward footpeg position in a familiar manner. The road-biased variant will use 17-inch wheels on both ends, while the off-road spec variant with the Enduro tag will consist a slightly bigger, 19-inch front unit among several other changes.
Hardware specifications on the base variant will include manually adjustable suspension setup, while the S variant will pack the electronically adjustable Ducati Skyhook Suspension Evo. The S variant will also receive more electronics and better braking setup than the base model. The Multistrada V4 may also receive the company’s radar-based cruise control system.
However, the Multistrada V4 is not the next product from Ducati’s touring list. The Multistrada V4’s launch will be preceded by the Multistrada 1260 S Grand Tour, which is expected to arrive at this year’s EICMA motorcycle show in Italy.

In more updates, Ducati’s Multistrada family has reached the 1,00,000 production milestone. The Multistrada number 1,00,000, a Pikes Peak version of the Multistrada 1260, gets a customised laser marking (Multistrada Centomila) on the top yoke. The bike was handed over to Dave Hayward, a German Ducatista, by Ducati’s CEO Claudio Domenicali.
