The Jazz was launched in India in July 2015.

According to Overdrive, the facelifted Honda Jazz unveiled in Japan and about to go on sale in Malaysia will not launch in India this year.

The facelifted Honda Jazz (Honda Fit) has been revealed in Japan and Malaysia confirming its first launch markets.

Besides the point that it has not completed 2 years on the market, the main reason is probably the new WR-V's sales in India. Launched in March, the Jazz-based crossover has since been registering sales figures of over 3,000 units in the last two months (3,833 units in March and 3,266 units in April). By launching a facelifted Jazz with better features, we reckon the attention will be directed to that car rather than the WR-V.

The changes will be broadly similar to the model that will go on sale in Malaysia. Last week, the Malaysian subsidiary revealed the posterior, featuring a new bumper design that looks sleeker and has a body coloured garnish. Other changes include new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy rims, new front fascia, and LED headlamps with integrated DRLs.

The interior is likely to stay identical to the outgoing model, save for a push-button start/stop and a 7-inch DIGIPAD system borrowed from the Honda WR-V. If it follows the current variant breakdown, the top-end VX variants will have an all black interior with Magic Seats, while the lower variants get a dual tone beige and black interior.

Honda's Malaysian subsidiary has conducted a preview of the new Jazz ahead of its commercial launch in the following weeks.

Expect the new Jazz to retain the current model's engine lineup, which includes a 1.5-liter i-DTEC turbodiesel engine producing 100 PS/200 Nm and is mated only to a 6-speed manual gearbox, and a 1.2-liter i-VTEC unit with 90 PS/110 Nm and is mated to a new 5-speed manual or an optional CVT.

We expect the fuel mileage to be identical to the current Jazz’s 18.7 km/L (petrol manual), 19.0 km/L (petrol CVT) and 27.3 km/L (diesel manual).

Prices too are expected to stay unchanged. The Jazz retails between INR 5.95 Lakhs and INR 9.27 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
