Hyundai Motor Company made a 'surprise' world debut of the new Hyundai Elantra in Park City, USA this week. The updated version of the Elantra features a handful of styling updates, a freshened interior, and many new features. Here's video walkaround of the new car from its world debut -
The 2019 Elantra gets a thoroughly revised front-end that features more angular headlamps and a new interpretation of the company's signature cascading grille. The bumper gets bolder sculpturing for the fog lamp housings. Together, the new bits make the front-end look different from that of the earlier version. In the side profile, the car gets new 18-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the licence plate has moved from the trunk lid to the bumper. The new L-shaped LED taillights make the posterior look radically different from before.
Hyundai has made changes to the sheet metal, like the fenders and bootlid, which has cost the company about USD 18 million per part, on the retooling.
The interior gets a new centre console with revised air vents and controls. The new Hyundai Elantra comes with several feature additions. The list of safety features includes a forward automatic braking, lane keep assist, driver attention monitoring system, blind spot warning, and adaptive cruise control. Furthermore, the 2019 Elantra gets the company's all-new AVN 5.0 infotainment system. It comes with an 8-inch touchscreen display instead of the 7-inch unit of the earlier car. Other features include an Infinity Premium Audio system with eight speakers, a wireless charging pod, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
