A faired Kawasaki motorcycle was recently spotted by TMJ4 news channel while out for a commercial shoot. The motorcycle in question is the next-gen model of the Kawasaki Ninja 400. The current generation 400 is available in Japan, and was earlier selling in Canada and New Zealand.

The Kawasaki Ninja 400 has so far been present only in select markets like Japan, Canada and New Zealand.

The bike previously was also not present in the US market. However, the advertisement shoot in Milwaukee, with an American crew, could be a sign towards a launch in the country. Apart from Tuesday, Kawasaki also has the permit to shoot again later today. The bike could be unveiled officially later this year as a 2018 model.

The Kawasaki Ninja 400 at present gets a 399 cc parallel-twin mill. The gearbox is a 6-speed unit. The bike has a condensed, mass forward appearance with aggressive twin headlamps. It gets a mix of digital and analogue instrumentation, standard telescopic suspension in the front and rear monoshock. It also has dual discs in the front and an adjustable windscreen.

The present model uses the dual tube frame as seen in the previous generation Kawasaki Ninja 650. The units spotted get a side-mounted canister exhaust.

The Kawasaki Ninja 400 at present uses the same dual tube frame seen in the previous generation Kawasaki Ninja 650.

IAB learns that the Kawasaki Ninja 400 will not be making its way to India. Recently, India Kawasaki Motors has commenced its solo operations from Chakan and has significantly increased localisation levels in the country. The new 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 was recently launched at INR 9.98 lakhs (ex-showroom, all-India).
