In Images - New Maruti Alto K10 (facelift) vs Maruti Alto 800

Uses the Alto 800's monocoque.

Maruti is readying a facelift for the Alto K10, and spy images from last week revealed the design of the small car. Rather than making cosmetic changes on the current K10's body, designers have opted to use the Alto 800's body and chassis, and adding to it new headlights, bumpers and taillights.

The new K10 is based on the Alto 800, and gets new styling elements.

At the front, the new K10 can be differentiated from the 800 by way of its angular headlights, a larger chrome grille, and its new bumper which gets foglight enclosures and a wider airdam. The side profiles of these cars can be told apart only by the blackened out B-Pillar seen on the new K10.

Over to the rear, the new K10 is given a larger taillight clusters compared to the cheaper 800. The shape of the new enclosures are inspired by that of the Celerio's to some extent. Another noticeable difference lies in the registration plate enclosure which has a curvy outline on the 800 and straight lines on the new K10.

The new K10 gets Celerio-inspired taillights.
