Spied - New Maruti Alto K10 (facelift) fully revealed, gets AMT

Will be the most affordable automatic car in the country when launched.

Here are the first images fully revealing the new Maruti Alto K10, which will go on sale in the coming months.

With new headlights, bumpers and a chrome grille, the new K10 differentiates itself clearly from the Alto 800.

Based on the Alto 800's body shell, the new K10 gets redesigned headlights, a thin chrome grille, new bumpers and taillights seemingly inspired by the Celerio. This will be the first update for the more powerful Alto since its launch in 2010.

Under the hood, the Alto K10 will continue using the 1.0-liter three-cylinder K-Series petrol engine, which on the current model produces 68 PS (67.04 bhp) at 6,200 rpm and 90 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm.

Currently, the car is available solely with a 5-speed manual transmission. With the launch of the new K10, Maruti will offer an automated manual transmission (AMT) alongside the manual, as the bootlid of one of the cars reveals the 'Auto Gear Shift' logo.

The rear sees Celerio-inspired taillights.

The K10 would be the second product from Maruti to use the AMT system. When it goes on sale, it will be the most affordable automatic car in the country, slotting below the Celerio AMT (if the Tata Nano Twist F-Tronic isn't available by then).

Competitors: Hyundai Eon 1.0L, Datsun Go
